With great pleasure I can announce that I've discontinued online teaching with all of its frustrations! I've gone back to in-person lessons exclusively and have been thrilled to see and hear everyone right here in person once again!
Blake, age 7, Lisa age 15 and Katie, age 15 have entered the high-level Nordic International Piano Competition. Located in Sweden, the competition is being held online this year. Four fantastic students have been declared winners in the fall Concert Festival Competition!!! Enthusiastic congratulations go to Blake, age 6; Katie, age 15; Lisa, age 15; and Harry, age 17!!!
Normally the winners of this international competition perform at a Winners' Recital at the Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall or another prestigious venue. But because of the pandemic, the recital was held online, consisting of videos of the performers.
I remain open for online lessons during the pandemic. Although this is far from an ideal situation, everyone can still learn and progress, so let's continue to explore and expand our pianistic achievements!
Although I can't record anyone here at my home, students continue to send homemade videos that are regularly posted on the VIDEOS page. Keep checking in!
I'm so very disappointed that the suspension of in-person lessons means that I've been unable to prepare new recordings to add to the Videos page of this website. All of my students have come so far in this past season that I wish I could document everyone's achievements!
I would like, however to pay special tribute to five outstanding students whose progress has been especially noteworthy (no pun intended):

Online lessons have begun! This is far from ideal but we must make the best we can of it. I'm here to help everyone to continue with their musical progress - let's not allow this terrible virus to interrupt our advancement at the piano!
Unfortunately, the coronavirus situation has necessitated the cancellation of all the competitions, the Piano Teachers Guild auditions and NYSSMA.
Piano lessons have been suspended until further notice due to COVID-19 health concerns.

Our annual Student Recital was terrific, featuring the two fantastic 5-year-olds and beautiful, exciting performances of works by Bach, Scarlatti, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Sibelius, Liadov, Ravel and others - followed by our traditional party at the Chinese buffet restaurant!
My two incredibly gifted 13-year-old students Katie T and Lyons W performed at their very best for the annual Honors Recital of the Suffolk Piano Teachers Foundation, held at Stony Brook University! My wonderful adult students Ela, Bonnie, and Lori have formed a sort of Piano Support Group, playing for each other monthly to learn to overcome nerves when performing for others. They came to my home last week and played a beautiful program of Bach, Mozart, Chopin and Scriabin , followed by a celebratory sushi lunch! I'm so grateful to have such dedicated adult students!
